Somewhere in Ukraine, prehistoric times

Night. Rainstorm. Thunder rumbles. Lightning flashes. There is the landscape of a forest clearing. From afar, during the lightning flashes, the outlines of three large stones standing in one row can be seen. First, the lightning strikes side by side, then hits one of the stones. Flash. A wounded Hero appears on the ground near the stones, lying unconscious. There is complete silence all around.

Morning. Little by little, the Hero regains consciousness, he hears the sounds of the forest.

The scene of first person view (through the eyes of the Hero)

In a blurry vision, he sees someone pulling him by the front handles on a stretcher. The wound on his shoulder is bandaged. The Hero is very weak, he falls asleep.

The Hero wakes up, begins to hear sounds, and looks around: he is lying on the animal skin, with hay underneath. Two figures are standing nearby. People. A man and a woman. They can be heard talking about something, their voices becoming clearer. They are discussing something with each other in an incomprehensible language. Some scraps of words resemble a Slavonic accent. The exhausted Hero falls asleep again.

A half-asleep, he sees that a young woman is taking care of him. She gives him a drink of water and changes the bandage on his shoulder. As time passes, the Hero becomes more and more aware of the young woman’s face.

The girl is young, his age. She is dressed in animal skins, a knife of pointed stone with a wooden handle hangs on her belt.

The end of the scene of first person view

Now Hero can get a good look at the hut. He tries to talk to the girl, asking her where he is. The girl doesn’t understand anything, but gestures for him not to get up, saying that he has to wait for his wounds to heal.

Sometime later, Hero gets to his feet and leaves the hut. He sees a small settlement of people: the huts are made of wood and straw, and instead of roofs they are covered with animal skins. Children are running around, people are doing chores, and chickens are wandering around.

And then he sees the girl who was nursing him. Their gazes meet. They smile at each other. A short pause.

After a while, somewhere in the distance, there is a horn howl. The Hero flinches, it reminds him of an air-raid howl. The smiling expression on the girl's face changes to a face full of anxiety. People start screaming frightened, calling for their children and hiding in the hut with them.

The girl runs up to Hero and gestures for him to go back into the hut and not come out. She puts her palm to her mouth. She closes the entrance to the hut behind him with the animal skin. Through a small gap, the Hero observes the following picture.

There is horn how again, but not far away. Strangers come into the settlement - enemy and warlike.

Slow-motion scene

First, the Leader of the strangers appears. He is tall, well-fed, and dressed in animal skins. On one hand, he has a large axe made of pointed stone with a wooden handle. On his head is the skull of an animal with large horns. The skull covers almost his entire face.

His warriors follow him. All warriors are dressed in animal skins. Some have bows in their hands, some have axes.

The Hero observes what is happening from the hut. Three people come out from another hut to meet the strangers. From their clothes, the Hero understands that they are the Chief and his woman and a girl. The girl's hands are tied at the front and part of the rope goes down to the ground. They all come even closer and kneel down.

The Leader of the strangers walks toward them. On the way, he breaks the wooden tackle on which they dry fish, animal skins, and meat. Then he walks up to the Chief and in a hoarse low voice shouts something to the whole settlement. Then he looks into the Chief's face and says something. The Chief, his woman, and the girl bow to him kneeling.

The Leader of the strangers takes the end of the rope with which the girl's hands are tied and sharply lifts the girl up. He examines her, then nods his head. He returns and walks with the girl, whom he pulls on the rope each time. The girl follows him, looking back in the Chief's direction, tears in her eyes.

The strangers take the animal skins and meat dried on the tackles and leave the settlement.

A girl, who is nursing Hero, enters the hut. She gestures for him to follow her. They approach the Chief. The Hero notices the same beads on both the Chief and the girl. He understands that they are father and daughter. The Chief looks at the Hero. Then he nods at his daughter and says something.

Evening. The Chief's daughter lights a torch and leads the Hero into the forest. They reach the forest meadow, where three large stones stand in a row. The two side stones are turned with their narrowed parts toward the central one. The Chief's daughter raises her torch to the central stone, on which an ancient symbol can be seen.

The Chief's daughter shows other pictures on the left stone from top to bottom. There are huts, a crescent moon (pointing to the sky), figures of three people, a figure of a man with horns, and a man with long hair.

She then takes the Hero to the right stone. On it, she shows pictures of lightning, a man, a drawing of an amulet that Hero has (points to the amulet), and below it is a figure of a man with horns on his head. Hero looks at the Chief's daughter and nods.

In the morning, the Chief gathers his people and tells them something. Then he points to the Hero and his amulet. The people begin to cheer, come to the guy, and hug him.

Hero together with his tribe begins to prepare for a battle with the strangers. Hero draws a plan of action with the usual signs on the animal skin. He shows it to the Chief's daughter, explaining what to do.

The people of the settlement prepare wooden arrows and spears. The Chief's daughter trains the Hero on how to shoot a bow. The Chief trains how to fight with axes. Together they chop trees, sharpen stakes, and weave ropes.

On the lawn in front of the settlement, a deep hole is dug, where wooden spears are stuck, and the trap is covered with straw. A haystack is placed on the sides. Another trap is made in the wood.

Everything is ready to defend the settlement.

In the evening, the Chief's daughter points to the crescent moon, which looks like a horn. The Hero nods.

In the morning, the tribal Chief performs a ritual of military initiation. On the cheeks of the Hero he first draws red stripes, then takes a coal from the long-extinguished hearth and adds black stripes below the red ones. On the guy's hand, he draws the symbol placed on the central stone.

The Hero comes out of the Chief's hut and notices that the weather is beginning to turn bad. The wind rises, and the clouds swirl and cover the sky tightly. A horn howl is heard. The inhabitants of the settlement take their positions.

The strangers’ Leader and his warriors emerge from the forest onto the lawn. They walk in the direction of the settlement. When they reach the center of the meadow, where the haystacks are located, burning arrows hit the stacks. The haystacks begin to burn and smoke. There is a lot of smoke, and it disturbs the army of strangers. The enemy tribe stops, and the Leader of the strangers gives the order to several of his warriors to attack. They run forward with shouts and fall into a trap with spears. Arrows fly at the enemies from the smoke and hit them. The rest of the stranger warriors become frightened and run away.

An arrow hits the enemy Leader. The smoke recedes, and Hero stands at the side of the shot with his bow drawn. Hero fires an arrow at the Leader again, but the latter repels the arrow with his axe. The enraged enemy Leader removes the arrow from his body, throws it down, and begins to walk toward the Hero. He screams in fury. The Hero runs into the forest, where another trap is prepared.

The weather gets even worse, it starts to rain, and thunder rumbles.

The enemy Leader catches up with Hero in the forest, and they fight with axes. Hero tries to lure the enemy into a trap. The farther they move, the closer the trap site. The enemy Leader knocks Hero out with his axe and knocks him to the ground. The Hero needs the axe to cut the rope and set the trap in motion. Dodging the Leader's blows on the ground, Hero slowly gets to his axe. He takes it and throws it to cut the rope. And at the last moment, he manages to jump away from the walls with sharpened stakes. They clamp down the enemy Leader. The enemy cries out in rage and pain, letting the axe fall from his hands, and loses consciousness. The Hero, breathing heavily, rises and approaches the enemy Leader. He examines him and takes off his skull with horns. The Leader has the same deep scar on his cheek as the previous enemy commanders, the German and the Russian. Here the Leader suddenly opens his eyes, and he pushes Hero away from him with a scream. With a roar, he frees himself from the trap, picks up his axe, and prepares to throw it at Hero, but freezes in place and falls down. The Hero sees that an arrow has struck the enemy tribe's Leader in the back. It was the arrow of the Chief's daughter. She is standing nearby.

There are thunder and lightning flashes. One lightning strikes the ground very close.

The Chief's daughter approaches the Hero and helps him stand up. They look at each other. On the face of the Chief's Daughter, besides the dripping rain, Hero notices a tear. They stand not far from three large stones. The Hero nods. The Chief's Daughter smiles kindly in return.

Hero walks toward the three large stones, then looks back at the Chief's daughter. The girl watches as lightning hits Hero. A bright flash is followed by an explosion of thunder, and Hero disappears.

Scene from the Hero's dream, Part 2

The scene of first person view (through the eyes of the Hero)

Night. The same battle, Hero's troop is in a trench. The Hero sees an enemy helicopter flying up and begins to fire on their position. Hero's buddy takes a hand grenade launcher and climbs out of the trench to take aim, but a bullet hits him. He drops the grenade launcher and screams in pain. The Hero pulls his comrade into the trench. Examines his wound.

Hero (shouting): "Hang in there, bro, reinforcements are coming, we just need to hold out until morning."

Hero's buddy clutches the wound with his hands and breathes heavily.

Hero's buddy already can barely breathe: "Please tell my wife and daughter that I love them."

The Hero clasps his hands around the wound of his buddy. He suddenly freezes and stops his gaze forever.

The hero, clenching his teeth in pain and anger, says: "Oh, crap!"

He grabs a hand grenade launcher and aims it at the enemy helicopter.

Slow-motion scene

Only the heartbeat and breathing of the Hero can be heard. It can be seen a hostile object appears in the scope.

A rocket flies out of the grenade launcher. It hits the helicopter.

The end of the slow-motion scene

The helicopter explodes and falls down. There is thick smoke from it. As it falls to the ground, it explodes again. The explosion from the helicopter illuminates the rest of the smashed enemy vehicles. Tanks and vehicles burn and black smoke billows from them.
